Edgehill has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best nursing homes in the country for the fifth time since 2016. The community received a 5-star rating for its overall high level of care and for its short-term rehabilitation care, and was among 11 out of 208 nursing homes in Connecticut to be named a Best Nursing Home by U.S. News & World Report.

Edgehill offers residents and the greater community comprehensive Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing services in an atmosphere befitting the finest spas. Services provided include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, cardiovascular services, orthopedic services, dedicated care teams and wound care.

“Edgehill is proud to be recognized yet again by U.S. News & World Report,” said Christopher Cilano, Edgehill Campus Executive Director. “Our community was one out of only a handful to be selected for the 5-star rating, which is a testament to the excellence and compassion of our associates. We could not be prouder of our team for its tireless efforts to provide the best possible care to our residents.”

Better care, safety and outcomes.

U.S. News & World Report’s overall and short-term rehabilitation ratings are based on an assessment of resident care, safety and outcomes. The short-term rehabilitation rating focuses on the consistency of direct care staffing, quality measures and outcomes, and success in preventing emergency room and hospital visits. The rating is based on data submitted by the community to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Compared to competitors, patients at Edgehill are significantly more prepared to return to a personal residence rather than a hospital or other care setting. According to U.S. News & World Report, the community ranks nearly 16% higher than the national average, with almost 70% of Edgehill residents being able to return home after being discharged.

A full continuum of care.

As a CCRC, Edgehill provides a full continuum of care for those who need it, when they need it. Aside from Skilled Nursing, Edgehill offers Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care. Earlier this year, Edgehill was recognized in the U.S. News & World Reports inaugural edition of Best Senior Living for both Independent Living and Assisted Living. Edgehill was the only community in Connecticut to receive this distinction.
