Stamford, Conn. – Edgehill, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Stamford, Conn., has once again been named one of the best senior living communities in the country by U.S. News & World Report. Edgehill was awarded for its independent living, assisted living and memory care communities, and was also recognized as one of the best CCRCs in the U.S.

In being selected as a top senior living community, Edgehill demonstrated excellence in safety, staff & hospitality, management, care services, and value, in addition to other attributes.

Located between the culturally rich and picturesque communities of Greenwich and Stamford, with convenient access to Manhattan, Edgehill is a luxurious CCRC, offering a comfortable, refined and maintenance-free lifestyle for retirees. As a CCRC, Edgehill provides a full continuum of care for those who need it, when they need it, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, sub-acute rehabilitation and skilled nursing.

“We are deeply honored to be the only senior living community in Connecticut to earn a ‘Best’ distinction in four categories this year,” said Edgehill Campus Executive Director Chris Cilano. “These awards reflect the dedication of our associates and the amazing relationships we have with our residents and their families. Our associates ensure that all needs are being met for our residents, and always exceed expectations.”

In compiling this year’s list, U.S. News & World Report analyzed survey data from nearly 4,000 senior living communities across the nation. The publication analyzed 197 resident and family member surveys to determine Edgehill’s distinguishing characteristics. Edgehill residents shared such feedback as, “Coming to Edgehill was one of the best decisions my husband and I have ever made,” and “it’s a wonderful place to live with friendly people!”

Edgehill, part of Benchmark Senior Living, has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report for excellence in senior living multiple times since 2016.  It is a five-time award recipient for skilled nursing and rehabilitation care and was awarded last year for best independent and assisted living.

Forty Benchmark communities throughout the Northeast received a total of 53 U.S. News awards for the second straight year, far outpacing the industry average for achieving “Best” status.

“We are honored and humbled that our residents and their families, once again, recognized the hard work, compassion, and dedication of our 6,000-plus associates. It’s their shared purpose of transforming lives through human connection that earned Benchmark these U.S. News & World Report awards and continues to separate Benchmark communities from other senior living companies,” said Tom Grape, founder, chairman and CEO of Benchmark.
