Joan Weisman, an Edgehill resident with a passion for helping, is an inspiration to us all. Her charitable work has led her to make a significant impact in the greater Stamford area over the years.

We’re proud to announce that Joan Weisman was awarded the first-ever Benchmark Distinguished Philanthropy Award. Her selfless acts of service throughout her life, including during her time at Edgehill, have inspired many. Read more about the award and her volunteer work in the coverage from The Patch.

Edgehill fosters an environment of volunteerism, and Joan Weisman credits the community for encouraging her to pursue her passions and continue giving back. Weisman embodies the values of Edgehill, which include Called to Care, Better Together, and Be the Benchmark.

The Benchmark Distinguished Philanthropy Award will now be given annually to a resident who reflects the organization’s core values and inspires others to give back. Weisman has taught us that it’s never too late in life to make a difference in the community.

We cannot think of anyone more deserving of the honor. Congratulations, Joan!
