Team Edgehill Raises More Than $96,000 for Hope in Motion Walk to Support Cancer Patients
Edgehill, Stamford’s premier continuing care retirement community, is proud to announce another successful fundraising effort led by Team Edgehill, a resident-driven initiative that raised a record-breaking $96,243 for this year’s Hope in Motion Walk benefiting patients at Stamford Health’s Bennett Cancer Center, raising the most money ever for the Walk by Team Edgehill.
Held on June 7 at Mill River Park, the annual walk helps provide cancer patients with practical support such as transportation, babysitting expenses, emergency loans and meals, as well as comfort services including massage therapy. Since first participating 12 years ago, Edgehill residents have raised more than $500,000 in support of the program.

A Commitment to Giving Back
“We are truly proud to support services that make a meaningful difference for cancer patients in our community. Giving back is important to our residents,” said Team Edgehill Captain Joan Weisman. “Over the past 12 years, we have made a significant impact, and we look forward to continuing our spirit of philanthropy into the future.”
Residents Rally Community Support
More than 100 donors, many of whom live or work at Edgehill, contributed to this year’s record fundraising total. One of the highlights of the campaign was the annual Edgeminster Dog Show on May 13, which featured 14 canine residents, a silent auction and enthusiastic support from the community.
On walk day, 17 Edgehill residents and associates participated in the three-mile event. In addition to the team’s fundraising efforts, Edgehill once again served as a sponsor of the Hope in Motion Walk.
