Chris Cilano
Role and Responsibilities
Chris Cilano, with almost two decades of dedication to our community, serves as the executive director of Edgehill. In this pivotal role, he oversees the entire campus and continuum of care, including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Mind & Memory Care and Sub-Acute Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing.
Chris and his management team consistently strive to meet and exceed the expectations of Edgehill’s residents, associates and families. For Chris, the most rewarding aspect of his role is the sense of family among associates and residents. “It is a great team and a great family, with residents and associates alike,” he says.
Industry Expertise
Chris joined Edgehill in 2004 as the director of food and beverage. He later transitioned to director of resident services and associate executive director before being promoted to executive director. “I consider it my duty, honor and a privilege, as well as my pleasure, to serve the Edgehill family for years to come,” Chris shares.
Passion for Senior Care
“Caring for our seniors is perhaps the greatest responsibility we have—a responsibility that, at least in part, defines who I am today,” Chris says. “Those who walked before us have given so much and made possible the life we all enjoy, including getting to hear the stories, experiences and humor of the residents we care for.”
Chris is a strong believer in the power of human connections, and he translates this belief into the relationships he forms with Edgehill’s residents and their families, allowing him the unique opportunity to help transform their lives. He says, “I can sincerely tell you that these bonds and emotional connections have proven to be the best benefit of working with older adults for the past two decades here at Edgehill.”
Career Journey
Before becoming Edgehill’s campus executive director, Chris was the club manager for a country club in Connecticut. In the early 2000s, he transitioned to Edgehill, where he has held several key roles.
Milestones
After Edgehill was named the Best Continuing Care Retirement Community in Connecticut by U.S. News & World Report for the second year in a row with Chris’ oversight, he shared, “Our associates are inspired to provide the best for our residents because of the special relationship we have with them. It is truly humbling to again be recognized for that work and to know that our residents truly appreciate the life they have at Edgehill.”
