Edgehill has again been recognized by U.S. News & World Report among the best in the nation for short-term rehabilitation and long-term care.
This year, the magazine rated Edgehill as “high performing” in both categories, which is its highest possible designation. Just nine percent of the facilities in Connecticut and seven percent nationwide earned that distinction. This is the eighth time since 2016 that Edgehill’s health center has been named to the list.

U.S. News & World Report Rating Methodology
U.S. News & World Report’s ratings evaluate resident care, safety and outcomes. Key factors in the ratings include the consistency of registered nurse staffing, the use of antipsychotic drugs and success in preventing emergency room and hospital visits. The short-term rehabilitation ratings assess fall prevention, infection control and the ability of residents to return home. Long-term care ratings further examine center ownership and weekend staffing levels. The ratings are based on data submitted by the community to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Edgehill maintains a five-star rating, the highest possible, from CMS.
High Success Rates for Short-Term Rehabilitation
Compared to other centers in the region, nurse and physical therapist staffing at Edgehill is significantly higher than statewide and national averages. Furthermore, 70% of short-term rehabilitation residents at Edgehill return home after discharge, far surpassing statewide and national averages. Additionally, none of the long-term care residents showed signs of depression, compared with 13% across the state and 10% nationally, reflecting the exceptional care provided here.

As a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), Edgehill provides a full continuum of care, offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, Mind & Memory Care and Sub-Acute Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing, ensuring residents receive the care they need at every stage of life.
