Susan Pica
Role and Responsibilities
As director of sales and marketing at Edgehill, Susan Pica is often one of the first people prospective residents and families meet when exploring the community. From the initial conversation to move-in day, she seamlessly guides them through each step of the journey. By offering guidance, answering questions and sharing the community’s mission, Susan helps ensure their transition feels comfortable and well-informed.
“My connection with prospective residents and families begins with that very first conversation—to understand what is most important to them as they look for a new place to call home,” Susan shares. “I am passionate about providing our prospective residents and their families with an exceptional tour experience, where they not only see our beautiful community but truly feel it.”
In addition, Susan supports community outreach and marketing initiatives to foster growth and engagement in the community.
Industry Expertise
Susan brings more than 20 years of experience in hospitality sales, including six years working in senior living across Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care.
Susan’s career began in corporate hospitality, where she spent many years in leadership roles, where she had the opportunity to mentor sales counselors, build high-performing teams and help shape culture across senior living communities.
Passion for Senior Care
Susan transitioned into senior living because the work goes beyond transactions. “I chose to work in senior living because this role is about guiding families through a major life transition. It is an absolute privilege to be a part of that journey.”
She is most passionate about being part of a team committed to compassion and quality of life for residents.
Milestones
Susan earned a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications and a Master of Science, both from Quinnipiac University. She is certified by the National Institute for Dementia Education (NIDE) and holds the CDP designation as a Certified Dementia Practitioner.
Personal Interests
Having grown up in Westchester County, with family roots in Greenwich and long-standing ties to Fairfield County, Susan has a deep appreciation of the region. “This is truly my home, and I understand why people want to be in this area—whether they lived here at one time, or they want to be closer to their children—it is a very special place with much to offer.”
Outside of work, Susan enjoys traveling to Caribbean islands with her husband and spending summers with her family on the shore of Madison, Connecticut.
Her passion project is volunteering with dog rescue; adopting her rescue dog, Ike, inspired her to help find forever homes for dogs in need. Susan lives by the mantra “movement is medicine,” dedicating time each morning to exercise. She has run the New York City Marathon and has completed ten half marathons.
